San Gabriel Valley Energy Wise Partnership
The City of Alhambra was helped along the path towards energy efficiency this summer, by the San Gabriel Valley Energy Wise Partnership. Sponsored by Southern California Edison, the partnership supplied incentives for major energy efficiency retrofits that were installed in the city hall, police station and Emery Park's community center. The retrofits, which include mechanical system upgrades, variable chilled water upgrades, energy management systems, lighting upgrades, and controls, will save 947, 611 annual kWh for the city.
"We are extremely pleased to have worked with the City of Alhambra on this project," said Marjorie Hamilton, Southern California Edison program manager. "This is an excellent example of SCE working with the local government partnerships for the betterment of the city and the community."
The San Gabriel Valley Energy Wise Partnership is an innovative partnership between 30 San Gabriel Valley cities, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments and Southern California Edison. Intergy is the program's implementer.
Intergy joins NAESCO
In August, Intergy Corporation joined the National Association of Energy Service Companies. Intergy's membership in NAESCO represents a broadening of the company's activities and a greater emphasis on the national energy efficiency field, according to Grant Cooke, Intergy vice president, programs and business services. While California has led the nation in energy efficiency and efficient resource management, these issues are broadening to other parts of the nation. NAESCO provides a greater opportunity for Intergy to contribute, Cooke added.
NAESCO is a national trade association which has been promoting the benefits of the widespread use of energy efficiency for over 20 years. On behalf of its membership, NAESCO works to help open new markets for energy services. Intergy is a specialized resource management firm implementing $17 million worth of energy efficiency and water conservation projects.
