 Real Property Time of Sale Program

The real property time of sale component is designed to take advantage of the home sale customer point of contact. The process includes working with realtors and inspectors to complete time of sale audits and installations as appropriate. All residential activities will be coordinated with PG&E programs and resources.
Activities include:
- Working with realtors and realty agencies to identify energy efficiency outreach that complements their marketing efforts.
- Working with realtors, realty agencies, and home buyers to identify energy efficiency technologies that interest home buyers.
- Providing incentives to inspectors to perform audits and recommend measures during the home inspection stage.
- Creating case study for home buyers with technology descriptions and cost savings potentials.
Program methodology:
- Develop realtor network to identify potential home sales. Provide training to demonstrate and quantify the energy saving benefits to potential home buyers, i.e. how energy efficiency can motivate sales.
- Develop home inspector network to capture energy savings opportunities along with standard home inspection checklist. Provide training on energy saving technologies, cost effectiveness, incentive programs, and home buyer value.
- Identify potential home sales and track inspection schedules.
- Use inspector network to inspect homes.
- Identify potential energy saving measures.
- Estimate energy savings and associated costs savings along with up front costs including any applicable incentives.
- Present report to potential home buyer summarizing and detailing energy saving opportunities and recommending specific measures.
- Follow up to determine which measures were installed.
