Pomona Energy Efficient Program - Outreach
The outreach program is composed of five activities chosen to increase the energy efficiency and awareness in the City of Pomona. They activities are local businesses presentations, local vendor presentations, direct distribution of targeted energy efficiency information, energy information booths at city events, and development of an energy efficiency and usage website for the City. All 2004-05 outreach activities are completed.

Business Presentations
On November 1, 2005, Intergy presented at a Pomona Kiwanis luncheon. Numerous energy efficient technologies were discussed, and multiple questions were fielded regarding tankless water heaters. Utility rebate program for business and residential customers were discussed, and the ease of applying was stressed. Approximately 20 attendees.
On October 12, 2005, Intergy gave a presentation at a Pomona Jaycees dinner. We discussed energy efficiency incentive programs, as well as various technologies. The speech was followed by a short question and answer period.
On August 30, 2005, Intergy presented at a Pomona Rotary luncheon. Energy efficient equipment and incentive programs were discussed. Approximately 24 attendees.
On January 12, 2005, Intergy hosted a Good Morning Pomona breakfast meeting. Coordinated by the Pomona Chamber and attended by local small business owners, energy efficiency and related incentive programs were discussed. Owner of host site, Red Hill Pizza, offered testimony for CFL savings.
On October 21, 2004, Intergy fielded energy efficient technology questions at distributed program brochures at Pomona Chamber Mixer. Approximately 30 attendees.

Vendor Presentations
These presentations are targeted to equipment vendors and contractors in the Pomona area. We begin with an overview of financial incentive programs available in Pomona and end with marketing strategies for energy efficiency upgrades and equipment. Question and answer sessions allow general and specific project issues to be addressed. Resources to assist in marketing energy efficiency to customers are also provided.
On December 22, 2005, Intergy hosted a luncheon for 7 contractors to discuss remaining opportunities with 2005 programs and future opportunities with 2006-08 programs.
On March 3, 2005, Intergy directly contracted several vendors and held detailed discussions on customer needs and desires related to energy efficiency. Rebate programs and incentives were also discussed.
On July 27th, Intergy held a joint presentation with KEMA that was well attended by area vendors and contractors. This collaborative effort multiplied the efforts of both our Programs and offered attendees a great deal of information for their time. The catered lunch was enjoyed by all.
On October 1, 2004, Intergy sponsored a lunchtime presentation at Farmer Brothers Restaurant. Discussions, questions, and answers followed the presentation.

Distribution of Brochures

Intergy has developed a series of brochures to inform the citizens of Pomona about energy efficiency. Brochures are tailored to the residential and business sectors and are bilingual. They include a comprehensive list of energy efficiency measures to reduce customer utility bills. View the recent brochures using the links below.
Phase IV

The Phase IV brochures have been printed and the delivery process has begun. Residential brochures are being delivered with the City's utility bills, and other avenues to complete the distribution of the brochures are being pursued.

Phase III

Phase III of the brochure distribution is ongoing as of September 2005. Distribution of the brochures was done through newspapers, direct mail companies, the Pomona Chamber of Commerce, and the City.

Phase II

Phase II of the brochure distribution is ongoing as of November 22, 2004. The primary distribution for residential brochures is the City's utility bill mailings; the brochure insertion began in early November and will continue until January. The business brochures are again being distributed through direct mail, the Pomona Chamber of Commerce, and the City.

Phase I

Phase I of the brochure distribution was completed in August 2004. Residential brochures were distributed through the City's newsletter along with an article. Business brochures were distributed through direct mail, the Pomona Chamber of Commerce, and the City. Both brochures were also distributed at the August 21 Pomona Concert in the Park held at Ganesha Park. Links the Phase I materials are below:

City Events

The Program provides information at various city events. These events offer a valuable question and answer forum for Pomona citizens who may be uncertain as to the economic benefits of energy efficiency and how they can take advantage of financial incentives. The face-to-face information provided is much more extensive than can be included in the brochures.
On May 18, 2005, Intergy participated in the Public Work's event held in front of the main Pomona library. About 200 people attended the event. Our whole house fan and compact fluorescent light (CFL) displays attracted a wide variety of participants and questions. Our game of chance allowed participants to win various types of compact fluorescent lamps and engaged most who passed by our table.
On August 21st, our Program booth was open at the Pomona Concert in the Park Series held at Ganesha Park. Approximately 400 to 500 people attended the event and many voiced their questions about energy efficiency and the programs available to them. We handed out our residential and business brochures as well as program information and applications from Southern California Edison, including the Express Efficiency Program for businesses.
On October 10, 2004, Intergy participated in the Pomona Valley Latino Chamber of Commerce Hispanic Fiesta. Residential and business brochures were distributed, various energy questions were answered, and numerous discussions occurred. Southern California Edison material was distributed as well.

City Website

The Pomona Energy IQ website came online in September 2004. The site can be entered from the City of Pomona's home page by clicking the Pomona Energy IQ link in the lower left corner. The site can also be entered directly using the link below:

Compared with the printed brochures, much more information is provided on the website. Links to sources of further information are also included in one convenient location. Additionally, the website allows access in an alternative format that may be more convenient for some individuals.
