IDEEA Project—Community College Program
Providing energy savings to California's community colleges
Intergy's community college program was one of our biggest projects during the 2004-05 energy efficiency cycle. This $1.2 million retrofit program for Southern California Edison helped bring significant energy savings to several major Southern California community college districts. This highly successful program achieved over 6.4 million gross kWh in savings, exceeding its kWh goals by 5 percent and kW goals by over 20 percent.
 
This was the first program in California to provide direct funding to the community colleges, and it paved the way for the statewide 2006-08 program. It was implemented with the goal of bringing the community colleges into the energy efficiency program arena already shared by the University of California and California State University systems.
